Abergele
in 1938 from the air This
week, I came across some fantastic aerial photos of Abergele, taken
in 1938. It's so interesting to see how the town used to look. Can you
find your house here? Looking
towards the north west. St Michael's clock tower towards the top-left
of centre. Above:
St Paul's chapel, St George's Rd is the imposing building just right
of centre. Above:
you can see the old goose market behind the Hesketh in this photo. Above: Water St stretches from the centre of this photo towards Pentre Mawr Park.

the old Bee Field seen above St Michael's in this photo used to be where
Abergele Market was held after it moved from Market St. Today, this
is the site of Tesco's. Above:
the strip of housing moving off to the right of frame in this one was
demolished to make way for Peel St.
